Last week Room 31 went to Totara Springs Chistian camp for 3 days and here are some of the photos:

Last term Room 31 went to Totara Springs Christian Camp for 2 nights and 3 days. It was an awesome experience! I did every activity that was offered to me. Those activities were: Senior Abseiling, Hydroslide, Kayaking, Raft making, Archery, Rock climbing, Bridge Jump, First aid, Damper, A-Frame, Blast, eeling, Water slide and a hot mineral pool.
My favourite activity was the hydroslide which was warm and awesome fun. I went down on a train, on my bum, with Kelsey and Shania and then Kelsey and I went down in a train doing superman. I got water up my nose, and slipped and slid all over the place. But it was awesome fun.
My least favourite activity was the A-frame. Mainly because my team wasn't communicating and co-operating very well. Also because it wasn't all that fun.
On the first night I was down at the camp site and slept in a tent with my friends, Shania, Kelsey, Amber and Brooke. While we were down at the camp site, Kelsey and I were Kayaking down the stream and we were in a double Kayak. We weren't very good and when we tried to turn at the top we got stuck in between the banks. The only adult near by was Graham, one of the parents, who was throwing berries, twigs, anything that he could find at us. It was alot of fun and was probably my favourite part down at the camp site. But sadly, while we were down there, it was raining and our tent got flooded in the entrance and woke up to rain spluttering on my head because we left a flap open as it was quite stuffy in our tent.
On the second night my friends and I were up at the cabins. The hydroslide was by far my favourite activity although I did enjoy the flying fox.Abseiling was also by far, the worst scariest thing I did at camp, but I did my best and strived to do all the activities, and thankfully I achieved my goal. It was raining alot more on the Tuesday and we were quite lucky because we were nice and warm in our cabins at night. At the end of the day at around about 8.30 we went into the nice and warm hot pool. I had good night sleep but then woke up sadly the next day to find out I had to clean the girls bathroom :(
Altogether I had a great time. Even though I caught the flu. Totara Springs Christian camp is fun and exciting and I would definitely go back there! :)

Shakespeare group !
Shakespeare
In room 31 we have been doing Shakepeare. This photo here is of me and our group. Josie is absent in this photo. Our group is doing Romeo and Juliet. We have changed the story line a bit so that it is more modern and more enjoyable.We have all had fun writing and rehearsing the script. I can't wait to present as I hope it will be very different and interesting.
This here is a video presentation of one of he scenes that I am in. In it is Kelsey, Maddie and Myself.
It was really fun doing our first stage performance but our group really needs to improve.
Statistics Investigation:
In room 31 we split up into groups of 3,4 or 5 to do a statistics investigation. My group consisted of Josie, Kelsey, Sophie and myself. Our topic was on subjects. Our questions were: What subjects do the students what more and less of, and what subject do they want added (new).
We went around to 6 different classes. We picked what classes we went to by clicking random numbers on a calculator, and then to pick the students, picked every fourth person off the roll.
We displayed our data 5 different ways through frequency charts, bar graphs,pictograms, pie graphs and stripgraphs.
Our results were that more people want less math, more food tech and for a new subjects, chemistry.
With this information we may show it to our principal so that he can make these adjustments to our timetable so that school will be a more enjoyable place.
